I need some nursery rhymes or fairy tales that are well known, however have a dark meaning or originally is different but has been adapted to make it better for children.
For example little red riding hood is originally about teaching young girls about rapists, paedophiles etc. sort of haha…

Most of them are pretty aggressive.
Just look at jack and jill or humpty dumpty.
rock a by baby, on the tree top.
when the wind blow the cradle will rock,
when the bow breaks the cradle will fall.
and down will come baby, cradle and all
poor dead baby :’[

pocket full of posies/poseys,
ashes to ashes we all fall down
very darkk! :O
it has been said that a lot of the darker tales came from Central Europe.Take”Babes in the Wood”-children wandering off to become victims of cannibalism,The Ugly Sisters who cut of parts of their feet in order to fit into the glass slipper smacks of self-mutilation.There are others that I can’t bring to mind just now.
