I really love how accurate they made the Wild Things; I looked through my copy of the book before I saw the movie and sure enough, they were all there. No extras, none missing.

its not a kids movie, its a movie about being kid
that doesn’t mean a kid can’t watch it, though

the point of the movie is to personify the many causes and forms of human grief. its kinda obvious to an educated adult, but to a child it would seem to be just another silly movie.

@blackbeltwezal Spike Jones has explained that this is not a kids film but rather an adult film about childhood.

how could a 7 or 8 year old not “get it”
I’m pretty sure the point of the movie is clear… and a person of any age can enjoy it.

thats because Where the wild things are wasnt intended to be a “kids movie” it’s way to deep and meaningful for a child…like an 7 or 8 year old might now get it but I loved the book and the movie. I teared up when i first saw the preview .

this was never supposed to be a “trendy independent” film. it was big budget from the beginning a hole

Why hasn’t anybody mentioned that the big “house” they build made of wood isn’t at all “creative” of the director? ANDY GOLDSWORTHY did the whole cone with a hole out of logs long before, yet nobody mentions it.

the problem with this movie is that it needed to come out about 4 years ago.
As of 2009, there are already too many trendy art-fag “independent” movies out there which make this movie look VERY mainstream and kind of boring.
if it had come out in 2005ish it would of been one of the first trendy “faux-independent” movies to come out, and it could of become like a keystone of the genre.
that said, it still looks pretty good.
